WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF SURFING AND THE OCEAN TO THE SOUL?
Surfing, in its most basic form, is nothing short of a soul refresher; for some, it’s a vocation; for others, it’s a source of exercise; and for still others, it’s a chance to acquire perfect clarity. You may have your oasis in the water, and you can have your peace of mind. People can surf for various reasons, but I believe they all agree that Surfing is excellent for the soul, that it is your healing or meditation ritual, and they are correct. It doesn’t matter how long you surf; you may be weary and rejuvenated and replenished in a new way. The ocean’s therapeutic qualities are unlike any other.
SURFING ALLOWS YOU TO EXPERIENCE DIFFERENT PERSPECTIVES.
Surfing is a sport that you will not be able to master in a short amount of time, which is part of its appeal. There’s always something new to discover, and the fact that the ocean is never predictable keeps things fascinating. Surfing requires a lot of concentration and drive since you’re always trying to stay one step ahead of the wave, attempting to predict what it’ll do or how it’ll break. Surfing regularly and thinking in this way daily may truly help your attitude on life; it gives you a new perspective and makes you want to always be one step ahead of the curve in everyday situations.
SURFING IS A GOOD WORKOUT AND REDUCES STRESS.
There aren’t many activities that can help you relax as much as Surfing. Simply being out in the open sea may help you relax and unwind, provided you’re surfing to your skill level. This is an excellent stress reliever, but it is also a fantastic workout without going to the gym. It’s essentially a full-body workout while doing something you enjoy, so it’s a win-win situation. If you’re new to Surfing, it’ll work your body like nothing else you’ve done before, so be patient and give it time to build and strengthen new muscle groups. You will not be sorry! Like any other form of physical activity, Surfing is an excellent technique to combat sadness and anxiety.
SURFING PROVIDES YOU WITH NEW AND INFORMATIVE EXPERIENCES.
You are in for the long haul once you get the ball rolling and are surfing fit. Aside from the practice of Surfing, you get to experience a wide range of new and exciting things, such as beautiful destinations around the world that you would never have thought to visit, and your newfound love for the ocean and what it can produce has lured you there. You would never expect to witness wonderful encounters with marine animals in the sea and on land firsthand. Please view our calendar for forthcoming travel dates and places to amazing surf destinations in our upcoming SwellWomen retreats.
Along with these new experiences, you’ll learn a lot, such as how to read the ocean tides, the contours of the sea bed from spot to location, and how to interpret weather patterns that cause good and bad surf conditions. This learning experience will help you appreciate mother nature’s power and forces, and you will eventually grow in sync with it to some degree. For years to come, this way of living will improve your mind, body, and soul.
SURFING BRINGS OCEAN CONSERVATION TO THE FOREFRONT OF YOUR MIND.
Another important component of Surfing, in my opinion, is growing your consciousness of ocean protection. After surfing in a few various locales and seasons, you’ll find that there are times when you see the impact that “we as humans” have on your newfound playground. This will drive it home; you’ll want to do everything you can to keep the ocean and its environs free of trash and other pollution. In some spots, you can physically brush thick debris away with your hands, which is a nightmare for the water and can sometimes have major health consequences. This should not be a selfish act; you must consider all of the amazing wildlife in this beautiful environment and put their safety and well-being first.
SURFING HAS MANY HEALTHFUL EFFECTS ON THE MIND, BODY, AND SOUL.
Overall, Surfing is the most uplifting sport and can help you lose years. Sunshine, salt water, fresh ocean air, physical activity, and an unwavering commitment to the environment will keep you in a positive frame of mind.
Anyone of any age may learn to surf; you don’t have to be the best to get started; get out there and have fun. A surfer with a cheerful attitude is the best kind of surfer there is, and you will truly appreciate the ocean’s benefits.
Surfing is wonderful for your health and has numerous mental, physical, and spiritual benefits. The ideal morning meditation/workout is waking up at 5 a.m. to surf for two to three hours.
